The event commenced with an opening prayer, followed by worship and praise, as the congregation lifted their voices in songs of adoration. The first Bible reading was taken from Psalms 34:1-5, after which the congregation joined in singing timeless hymns such as Great Is Thy Faithfulness and Blessed Assurance. A second Bible reading was drawn from Psalms 103:1-5, reminding all present of God’s abundant blessings.

In his powerful message, Bishop Prince Omosogba centered his sermon on 2 Chronicles 32:25, highlighting the failure of King Hezekiah to thank God for His kindness, leading to God’s anger. “When we fail to thank God, we miss out on His fullness,” the bishop warned, citing the story of the ten lepers, where only one returned to give thanks. He reminded the congregation that gratitude is born out of deep reflection on God’s blessings. “We should thank God for what we have, regardless of what we haven’t received yet. Visit a hospital, and you’ll see people who need assistance just to eat or urinate,” he urged, encouraging all to emulate the psalmist’s attitude of gratitude.

Following the sermon, a time of offering was observed, with members joyfully giving back to God. The chairman of the event, Chief Barr Benson Ndakara, represented by Chief Dr. Edwin Achugbue in his opening speech, expressed his delight in being part of a fellowship that honours God. He reminded the congregation of God’s faithfulness, citing the biblical account of the Israelites who, after their battles, counted their numbers and found that no one was missing. “That’s how it’s going to be for every one of us this year,” he declared, encouraging all to give quality offerings in thanksgiving, believing that God would in turn bless them with provision and good health.
