*expresses gratitude to Buhari, Omo-Agege
High Chief Johnson Opone, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and candidate of the party for Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the recent National Assembly polls on Thursday expressed joy over the emergence of a tertiary institution in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State following approval from the Federal Government for the establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Science, Kwale.
Opone, who hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for the approval of the establishment of the institution, equally lauded the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege for his doggedness in achieving the feat.
Opone, a successful financial expert and a respected politician of note who stated this while reacting to the approval of the tertiary institution said “Mr. President, your gesture underscores your love for humanity, especially to the Ndokwa people.
I also commend the legislative vigour of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in making this successful.
“We are grateful to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for his unquestionable love for Ndokwa ethnic nationality and his consistency in considering matters related to its progress and development. He is an agent of genuine change and accelerated development, who is eager to change the ugly trajectory after years of deliberate marginalisation of Ndokwa people by successive State governments.”
The former President General of Ndokwa National Union, Ndokwa Neku (NNU) added that the development is timely, as it will expand access to the teeming youths in Ndokwa nation to aspire for
higher education.
He stressed that education remained the only potent weapon to eradicate poverty and breach all limitations.
While congratulating the people of Ndokwa ethnic nationality, he urged them to join hands with the government to ensure the smooth take-off of the Federal University.
It would be recalled that as part of the fulfillment of a major campaign promise by the All Progressives Congress in Ndokwa land, following fruitful engagements between the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and the Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, and a subsequent direct request to His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, the Federal Government approved the establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Science, Kwale.
