Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, at the wedding ceremony of Mr. and Mrs. Ovoke O. Akpobasa, extended his gratitude to church leaders for their prayers, attributing his survival of 38 court cases to their support.
The ceremony, held at Light of Christ Ministry in Sapele, witnessed the Governor’s presence alongside his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, and top government officials.
Expressing his delight at the occasion, Governor Oborevwori hailed the Orogun-born groom as a son and congratulated the couple on their union.
Reflecting on the event’s significance, he emphasized the universality of worship, stating that one can serve God anywhere, irrespective of the church’s size.
“I want to thank all the great men of God who stood firm praying for me to survive 38 cases. It was indeed the grace of God,” said Oborevwori.
Chairman of the occasion, Chief Ominimini Obiuwevbi, commended the newlyweds for honouring their parents, underscoring the importance of familial respect and unity.
The ceremony featured a sermon titled “The Pillars of Marriage” by Pastor Efe Okuigbedi, who advised the couple to prioritize friendship, prayer, and mutual affection while guarding against external influences in their marital journey.
The wedding was followed by a reception at Splash & Rush Event Hall, marking the beginning of the couple’s new chapter together. #JOVE24
