In a remarkable effort to improve security and infrastructure in Orogun Kingdom, Akpovogbeta Wisdom Ogheneyoma Esq., a distinguished corporate and energy lawyer, has facilitated the installation of a 3.5kVA solar inverter system at the Orogun Police Station.
This initiative ensures a 24-hour power supply to the station, enhancing its ability to operate effectively and contribute to the safety and well-being of the community.
Oghwoghwa Reporters learned that the project was inspired by the vision of Chief Do-Good O. Efe-Nogo JP, who reached out to Akpovogbeta for support in bringing sustainable energy to the police station.
“When Chief Do-Good O. Efe-Nogo JP contacted me about this project, I knew I had to get involved,” Akpovogbeta explained. “Making a positive impact begins with one’s community, and this project is a testament to the commitment we share for Orogun development.”
Akpovogbeta, a proud indigene of Orogun and a graduate of Afe Babalola University, has always been deeply committed to community service. During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), he led a team to the Nigeria Correctional Center in Warri, where they donated relief items and provided counsel to inmates. That experience solidified his dedication to giving back to society, a value he continues to hold dear as he progresses in his legal career, which focuses on corporate law, energy law, property law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
The solar electricity project is more than just a technological upgrade for the Orogun Police Station—it is a symbol of how individuals from Orogun can leverage their skills and resources to contribute to the development of their hometown. “Orogun is our home,” Akpovogbeta remarked, “and no matter where we are in the world, we must return to build and nurture it.”
He called on fellow indigenes, particularly those with the means, to take similar initiatives to improve the community. “When people hear the name ‘Orogun,’ I want them to think of a place that represents progress and positive change. Each of us can make a difference, no matter how big or small our contribution. Together, we can create a legacy of development.”
