In a heartfelt response to the urgent plea of Orogun residents, Hon. Joseph Friday Obara, the Councillor representing Orogun Ward 1 in the Ughelli North Legislative arm, has pledged his personal funds for the immediate renovation of the Orogun Maternity Center. This facility, which has long been in a state of disrepair, is essential for the health and well-being of the community.
The residents reached out to Hon. Obara, highlighting the critical need for a functional and safe maternity center. In response, Hon. Obara emphasized the importance of prompt action, stating, “While we await the LGA Chairman’s approval for a comprehensive renovation, I believe it is essential that our community has access to a functional and safe maternity center without further delay.”
Hon. Obara’s initiative not only demonstrates his commitment to the well-being of Orogun residents but also his dedication to addressing their pressing needs. “Our community deserves quality healthcare facilities, and I am determined to ensure that the Orogun Maternity Center meets the standards of care we expect. Together, we can make a significant difference and improve the lives of our families and neighbors,” he added.
The renovation of the Orogun Maternity Center aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. By taking this proactive step, Hon. Obara is contributing to the improvement of maternal health services, which is a crucial aspect of achieving this global goal.
The community’s gratitude and support for Hon. Obara’s decision have been overwhelming, with many expressing their hope that this renovation, in line with the MORE agenda of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori as mirrored by Chief Jaro Movudu Egbo, will mark the beginning of more comprehensive improvements to local healthcare facilities.
The Orogun CommunityFirst BetterHealthcare initiative is set to bring immediate relief to the residents, ensuring that they have access to the quality healthcare they deserve.
