***Okpamwa, Ughere, Okomitie, and Other PDP Stakeholders Highlight Oborevwori’s Remarkable Achievements

A socio-political support group, Delta Mothers Support Initiative (DMSI), celebrated the first anniversary of the governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis O. Oborevwori’s administration. The event which was held at Okorodafe Roundabout, marked a year of ADVANCING Delta through the MORE Agenda.
Mrs. Okpamwa Elohor Daisy, who doubles as Chairperson of DMSI and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Oborevwori on Women Mobilization, praised the governor for his achievements and outlined the group’s mission to empower Delta women through soft loans, grants, and entrepreneurial education. “Delta women are resourceful and cannot afford to see their children hungry,” she stated, emphasizing the group’s goal to equip women to thrive economically.
DMSI aims to influence political outcomes by supporting women’s economic independence. Mrs. Okpamwa declared, “We are local politicians. We are grassroots members. We believe in getting it on the ground here in Ughelli.”
Miss Laurenta Edegware Aforkoghene highlighted the group’s efforts to fight domestic violence and alleviate poverty, urging Delta women to join their initiatives for a stronger community.
PDP stalwarts, including Mr. Akporode Okpamwa and Prince Nicholas Makolomi, lauded Governor Oborevwori’s developmental strides across Delta’s 25 local governments. “He has done more than enough,” Okpamwa noted, while Makolomi expressed confidence in the governor’s continued progress, citing significant infrastructure projects like the 360 Road.
Olorogun Samson Gordon’s Okomitie and Mr. Peter Odokuma emphasized the governor’s impact on political unity and infrastructural development in Ughelli North LGA. “This is the first time we are seeing Julius Berger constructing roads and bridges in Delta State,” Okomitie said.
Activist Blessed Ughere who is UPU Youth Wing President, lauded Governor Oborevwori for making Urhobo proud, noting that in the history of Delta State, it is governors of Urhobo extraction that have been able to do landmark projects beginning from Chief James Ibori and now Rt. Hon. Oborevwori.
Comrade Duke Onokpasa praised the governor’s rapid progress and youth empowerment, noting that many commissioners are in their twenties and thirties.
School students were also full of praise for the governor. The celebration featured the distribution of aprons for market women, brooches, notebooks, snacks for pupils, and a dancing competition, reflecting the community’s appreciation for Governor Oborevwori’s first year in office.
Hon. Hope Oborevwori, the President of Hope Oborevwori and Friends Support Group, is a grand patron of DMSI, whose motto is “Mother’s Keeper”.
