The Delta Mother’s Support Initiative, led by Mrs. Elohor Daisy Okpamwa, proudly celebrates the International Day of Women in Diplomacy which is observed on 24th of June every year by the United Nations. This day highlights the vital contributions of women to global diplomacy and aligns with the MORE Agenda of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, focusing on inclusiveness, stakeholder engagement, collaboration among security agencies, and robust engagement with traditional institutions.
According to the release made available to Oghwoghwa Reporters, the Chairperson of the foremost Women Support Group stated that inclusiveness and stakeholder engagement are key to effective diplomacy. By involving diverse voices, we ensure that policies reflect the needs of all citizens.
In her words, Mrs. Okpamwa, who is also the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Oborevwori on Women Mobilization, said that “Engaging all stakeholders is essential for effective diplomatic efforts.
“Additionally, collaboration among security agencies and traditional institutions is crucial for maintaining law and order, because robust engagement fosters understanding and cooperation” Mrs. Okpamwa further noted.
Echoing UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed’s words, “We must ensure women are at the table, our voices heard and our contributions valued.” Women’s participation in diplomacy enhances the scope and quality of outcomes, benefiting society as a whole.
“The Delta Mother’s Support Initiative is committed to advocating for increased representation of women in decision-making positions, because inclusive governance leads to better-informed policies that address the needs of all citizens, creating positive change for our communities
“I therefore call on all Deltans to join hands with the Delta Mother’s Support Initiative and be part of a movement towards a more inclusive and equitable future, in line with the MORE Agenda of RT. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, Mrs. Okpamwa further added.
