Lagos, Nigeria – March 6, 2025 – Family, friends, and dignitaries gathered at La Madison Place, Lekki, Lagos, to celebrate CSP Gladys Enoho Imegu, Esq., as she was honoured with the prestigious Charity and Welfare Jade Award at the St. Maria Goretti Old Girls Association (SMAGOGA) Silver Jubilee Anniversary and Annual General Meeting.

The night was filled with gratitude, inspiration, and recognition of individuals who have dedicated their lives to philanthropy and social impact. CSP Imegu, a distinguished law enforcement officer and humanitarian, was nominated from the Port Harcourt Branch and recognized for her outstanding contributions to charity, human dignity, girl-child education, and advocacy for equality. She was celebrated alongside other honourees, including Olabisi Membere-Otaji, Prof. Osarome Tawari, Carol Otaigbe, Nosa Omere, Augustina (Tina) Uwadiae (née Ehondor), Ifeyinwa Boyo, Christie Onyonyor and Barr. Oghenero Emu.

The grand occasion was chaired by General Alexander Ogomudia (Rtd.), former Chief of Army Staff and former Chief of Defence Staff, while Senator Daisy Danjuma graced the event as the Special Guest of Honour.
As part of the event’s fundraising efforts, about ₦40 million was raised toward the ₦100 million target for SMAGOGA’s charity and welfare initiatives, further underscoring the organization’s commitment to uplifting the less privileged.
CSP Imegu’s recognition drew an outpouring of goodwill from family, friends, and distinguished personalities who celebrated her selfless contributions to humanity.
Her husband, Maj. Chris O. Imegu (Rtd.), Esq., expressed immense pride in her achievement, stating:
“This prestigious recognition showcases her compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment to humanity. It aligns perfectly with her innate nature to serve selflessly. I pray that Almighty God continues to grant her wisdom and inspiration to sustain her steadfastness in rendering invaluable services to our nation and beyond.”
From Orogun Kingdom, the President General, Chief Barr. E. T. Opone, extolled her virtues, stating:
“CSP Imegu embodies the rich heritage of our kingdom and the legacy of great trailblazers like Madam Ogeh and Justice James Omo-Agege, CFR. Through her philanthropy and leadership, she has uplifted countless lives, proving herself a dependable ally and role model.”
Her cousin, Hon. Justice Frances Erhuvwu Messiri, also lauded her dedication to sisterhood, human dignity, and the advancement of the girl-child, remarking:
“Her journey, shaped by our family’s legacy and the discipline of her alma mater, has molded her into the outstanding woman she is today. This award is a testament to her lifelong impact on society.”
Her colleague, CSP Adaobi Okafor, congratulated her warmly:
“Your hard work and dedication extend beyond your office. This award is long overdue, and I’m proud of the difference you continue to make in people’s lives.”
The Lily Set, her Class of ’92 sisters, also shared their heartfelt admiration:
“Your tireless efforts inspire us all, and we are proud to celebrate this momentous achievement with you. Keep shining your light and spreading kindness and compassion.”
CSP Imegu also received heartfelt congratulations from her alma maters, the ELSA Class of ’98 and the Delta State University Law Pioneer Class of ’99, in recognition of her SMAGOGA Charity & Welfare Jade Award.
Her ELSA ’98 classmates praised her as “amiable, intelligent, resourceful, and deeply committed to humanity,” celebrating her passion for human dignity and the well-being of others. They described the award as a testament to her “selflessness, compassion, and pursuit of excellence in uplifting others.”
Similarly, her Law Pioneer Class of ’99 colleagues lauded her outstanding service as a senior police officer and legal expert, commending her “impeccable character, dedication to justice, and noble love for humanity.” They expressed immense pride in her achievements and wished her continued success in her humanitarian and professional endeavors.
CSP Imegu, through her work in law enforcement, advocacy, and philanthropy, continues to set an example of service, leadership, and dedication. As a seasoned law enforcement officer, she has remained a strong advocate for justice, gender equality, and human rights, balancing her professional duties with impactful humanitarian work.
