The All Progressives Congress Delta Central Gubernatorial Campaign Coordinator, Chief Dr. Ominimini Obiuwevbi led a coalition of support groups and stakeholders of the APC in a one million solidarity march for the presidential and gubernatorial ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, on Saturday 22nd October, 2022.
The crowd which grounded human and vehicular activities, came from various places in Delta Central Senatorial District, converged at the PTI Conference Centre and marched to Airport Junction via the popular Effurun Round About and Effurun Market and terminated at DSC Roundabout, Ebrumede, in a carnival-like atmosphere with banners, flags and placard-wielding youths, women, and men bearing various inscriptions dancing to the gyration of music.
The solidarity march was preceded by a strategic meeting with heads of APC support groups and stakeholders at the Agbarha-Otor country home of Chief Ominimini and a test run on the streets of Agbarha-Otor on Friday 14th October, 2022.
As early as 8am, vehicular movement was already grounded as party faithful gathered to receive briefings and accreditation before embarking on the rally.
Speaking with DEMA Media Team, Dr. Ominimini, said that the solidarity march is a demonstration of the confidence the people of Delta state have in the ability of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to turn the fortunes of Nigeria and Delta state around.
In his words, “the manifesto of Bola Tinubu which contain the action plan for a new Nigeria has once again rekindled a renewed hope for the people of our great country and the appropriate thing to do as Deltans is to join forces with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to build a new Delta by voting wisely for the APC at all levels in 2023.”
Meanwhile, the Director General of Delta Emancipation Movement for Agege (DEMA), Chief Do-Good O. Efe-Nogo reiterated that Delta is in dire need of emancipation from the shackles of underdevelopment foisted on her by the PDP led government of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, adding that, “this march is just the beginning of the demonstration of our collective resolve to emancipate Delta with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as governor.”
Also speaking to DEMA Media, the Director General of Coalition of Professionals for Tinubu and Agege, Pastor Alex Kenerekedi (JP), tasked Deltans to vote for Tinubu and Omo-Agege because, in his words, “they have demonstrable capacity and audacious ideas to make Nigeria and Delta state the envy of the world.”
Alhaji Sadiq Oniyesaneyene Musa, who doubles as the Federal Commissioner, South-South, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria and Director General of Delta Muslims for Omo-Agege also said that “the contribution of His Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to the development of Muslim communities which makes up to four to five Local Governments in Delta State is unprecedented and we will pay him back by mobilizing all Muslims across Delta State to ensure his victory and that of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the polls.”
In a related development, Prince Efe Duku while expressing satisfaction with the outcome of the march from a post in his Social Media handle, eulogized the political sagacity and administrative acumen of Olorogun Ominimini Obiuwevbi and other grassroots leaders of the Delta APC for mobilizing “countless Deltans to test electoral microphones on our streets that with ‘RENEWED HOPE’, APC as ‘Delta’s ruling opposition’ undoubtedly has the ‘EDGE’ and requisite resources to save our State from sliding into extreme political leadership quackery.”
“By these we reaffirm Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s firm conviction that indeed the time is near for the stammerer to finally call his father’s real name in Delta”, he enthused.
Various support groups like Dr Igbuzor Team for Agege, Delta Emancipation Movement for Agege (DEMA), Ovie Omo-Agege Initiatives, Coalition of Professionals for Agege, Delta Muslims for Ovie Omo-Agege, Agege New Delta Model, Omo-Agege Political Grassroot Movement, Paul Otu Foundation, #iVoteAgege, All Progressive Movement, amongst others were on ground to add color to the event with a vow to work for the victory of APC at all levels in the forthcoming elections.
