The Abobo and Akpore families, alongside a host of well-wishers, have begun the final journey home for their beloved matriarch, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Grace Temisan Akpore, who passed on at the distinguished age of 95. The late nonagenarian, a revered figure in Otovwodo, Agbarha-Warri Kingdom (Warri South LGA), and Unukpo-Orogun (Ughelli North LGA), is being honoured with a series of solemn and celebratory events, reflecting a life marked by faith, resilience, and community service.
The Commendation Service would be held this morning, Thursday, January 30, 2025, at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Orogun, where family, friends, and clergy would gather to pay their last respects to extoll her virtues as a devoted mother, a pillar of strength, and a guiding light in both the church and her communities.
Later today, a Service of Songs will take place at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Okere Road, Warri, at 4:00 PM, an occasion expected to draw prominent figures, community leaders, and church faithful who wish to celebrate her impactful life.
The Funeral Service is scheduled for Friday, January 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Otovwodo, Agbarha-Warri Kingdom (Agbasa), Warri. Following this, the family will host guests at the Urhobo College School Field Effurun, for a grand reception in her honour.
The final leg of the solemn rites will culminate in a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Okere Road, Warri, at 10:00 AM, where loved ones will give thanks for a life well spent.
