Chief Efe-Nogo, who is also the Oruese 1 of Orogun Kingdom emphasized the critical importance of digital literacy in today’s world, highlighting that the digital age presents unprecedented opportunities for growth, learning, and innovation.

“In this era of Digital Marketing, Content Creation, Video and Photo Editing, Web Development, AI+IoT, Data Science, Design, Circuit Playground, and Scratch Programming, it is crucial for our youth to embrace these opportunities. By doing so, they can not only enhance their personal growth but also contribute significantly to the advancement of Orogun as a whole,” he said.

“The skills acquired through digital literacy and technology can transform lives, create job opportunities, and ensure that Orogun is not left behind in the global digital economy”, Chief Efe-Nogo further reiterated.

However, Chief Efe-Nogo also expressed deep concern over the significant challenges faced by Orogun youths due to the community’s lack of ICT infrastructure. He lamented the absence of basic ICT facilities, such as computers and a Computer-Based Test (CBT) center, which severely hinders students’ preparation for critical examinations like WAEC, NECO, and JAMB.

“This lack of resources places our young people at a disadvantage compared to their peers in more developed areas,” he stated.

In light of these challenges, Chief Efe-Nogo has issued an urgent call to the Delta State Government to take immediate and decisive action to bridge the ICT infrastructure gap in Orogun. He stressed the need for the establishment of a fully equipped CBT center and the provision of computers and internet access in schools across the kingdom.

“The youth of Orogun are our greatest asset, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that they have the tools they need to succeed, let us all work together to empower them to harness the power of technology and lead our community towards a brighter, more sustainable future.” Chief Efe-Nogo averred.
